Collection 1: Scattered Thoughts
A few designs that developed to physical assets.
This collection is called Scattered Thoughts as it truly was made up of various scattered thoughts brewing since 2020. Since a young age, it’s always been a goal to create something that I could fully call mine and share with the world. It took me a while to gather the resources and skills to design something and make it come to life. I truly feel like a kid who just discovered the playground and wants to spend every waking minute playing. Thank you, sincerely, for spending even a second of your time looking at my ideas and an even bigger thank you for everyone who spends their hard earned money on my creations. I’m barely scratching the surface of the things I want to mold and put out in the world, and I’m extremely thankful for the people who follow me on this journey.
With love always,

Floral Faces
Pattern consists of faces looking at each other but when viewed from a distance, a flower like structure appears.
The first official cut and sewn garment created for Garment Log . Drawing inspiration from the turbulent journey of one's twenties, we've crafted a piece that vividly depicts the mental challenges people face during this transformative period. While external factors undoubtedly influence one's circumstances, internal elements like self-perception and thought patterns play a significant role. We've come to understand that most problems are internal; how you react to external factors is more crucial than the problems themselves. In this life, the greatest growing pain will often be the struggle of you versus yourself. And so this piece explores the concept that patience is key when finding yourself in a struggle against your own mind. Understanding that these internal battles often precede something beautiful, like a blossoming flower. Sometimes, you’re your own biggest enemy — step aside and allow yourself to grow. Remember, good things take time.
Garment Patch Work Shirt
Taking inspo from our daily closet, we wanted to create a button up shirt that encapsulated a classic look with a breath of fresh air. The colors are taken from the spring blooms within the neighborhood, specifically from the shrubs and grass. We felt right on time for spring with an earthy green heavyweight canvas material and a dark yellow/brown outline stitch. We embroidered Garment Log in cursive on the front and a patch on the back to complete the garment.
Patch
In our brand patch, we pay tribute to several iconic denim brands (including but not limited to: Levi's, Evisu, Samurai, momotaro, and way too many to include!). Our graphic was designed with multiple layers of symbolism. Inspired by Levi's two-horse design, we chose a dragon as the perfect substitute. In Asian culture, dragons symbolize strength and good fortune, which reflects our goal for wearers to experience durable clothing (and feel lucky!). We depicted smoke coming from the dragon's nostrils and forming into a cloud, representing the ever-changing nature of clouds and the concept of the “unknown”. There’s a happy expression on the cloud as we look at the future/uncertainty in a positive light rather than a negative one.
Notebook Shirt
Every brand needs a simple logo tee… right? A pretty hard decision in terms of design when we decided to create one. The constant series of thoughts were:
“How do we create a simple yet unique tee?”,
“Do we even need a logo tee?”,
“Logo tees are boring”,
“Nah let’s not make a logo tee, it’s basic and won’t tell a story”,
“Fuck it lets just create a logo tee, if it comes out bad we’ll make something else later”.
So fuck it, here’s a logo tee.

One of the first designs I created, a brand that never made it out: War on Society.

Nike Composition circa 2007
From a young age we were obsessed with the composition notebook design. Such an elegant and eye catching design, yet iconic. In elementary school, the first shoe that really caught our eye was the Nike Composition Book Dunks. As we begged our frugal parents for it, we were met with denial as nikes were a luxury then. But we got them a year later when they hit the clearance aisle. To this day, this is one of our favorite dunk designs. It's playful and tells a story, bringing back waves of nostalgia that reminded us when we were just kids — when thinking of ways to empty out the sand in our shoes was the biggest problem we had.
Packaging
Stories etched in concrete
(a) (b) (c)
(d) (e)
In designing the packaging for this first collection, we went outside and looked at the finer details of our community. As we walked, we looked at everything and everywhere and often came across images etched in concrete. Whether it be someone craving their names into the concrete (image a), their city (image b), their identity (image c), or even footsteps (image d) we found a liking to these art pieces. It felt like art without the status, similar to guerrilla art; something familiar to all the neighbors and that doesn't get a second bat of an eye, yet is so intricately woven into the fabric of the community. We connected with these concrete images, recognizing that the artists convey messages to the world using only the resources available to them. Inspired by the art, we incorporated similar styles along with our own logos and images, crafting our packaging based off concrete evidence on our sidewalks.
Stickers
(a): Just a play on materials and our name
(b): Composition book inspired
Sticker A: For this sticker, we wanted to experiment with colors and variants of fabric. From the external to the internal, we lined materials from marbled jade, green mohair, and green corduroy. Mixing materials always intrigues us so we wanted a simple design to play with them.
Sticker B: Essentially we thought of Garment Log as a vehicle to help us tell organic stories through, but not limited to, garments. Additionally, the name came as a reference to the blog, and now vlog era. One of the reasons we thought the composition notebook design was perfect for us was for the function of a notebook – allowing us to record and tell organic stories. And we also just love the Nike Composition Dunk!
Neck tags
Red-Eared Slider Turtle
For our first tag, we designed a pattern inspired by the Red-eared slider turtle, often referred to as “Chinatown turtles” due to their illegal sale in many Chinatown neighborhoods. We used to have two of these turtles as childhood pets, but we eventually released them. In theory, they live for a long time, and we hope our brand will do the same. On the back of the tag, we included a message that we choose to live by: “It’s a beautiful day to get fly and step outside!”.
If you got this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I poured a lot of effort into this and being able to create and share my work is already the dream. Buy something if you want/can, share it to another if not. Love you all!
Stay tuned for the next story,
